Red Rice Books’ Community Supported Bookshop (CSB) is a membership program inspired by the traditional CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) model, which helps local farmers thrive. Just like with farm shares, our CSB members pay upfront or monthly, supporting the bookshop and sharing in both the challenges and joys we face each season. Instead of fresh, local vegetables, you'll receive a curated selection of fresh, locally sourced BOOKS—carefully chosen with love, by and for the community. Expect vibrant reads from the African Diaspora, unique titles, and the chance to be part of something special!.
What's it all about?
Let’s be real, we want to ensure Black institutions in the Charlotte-Metropolitan area thrive. Independent bookstores have been hard hit by chain stores, online book discounters like Amazon, and e-books. A CSB will help Red Rice Books navigate the crests and troughs of running a small retail operation while giving you a real stake in our continuing success as a sustainable and productive local business.
