PARTED: A HAIR EXHIBIT

Curated by Davita Galloway, Nadia Meadows and Cheryse Terry, PARTED is an immersive, multisensory experience that honors the art, history, and evolution of Black hair. From the intricacy of cornrows to the symbolism of the afro, from hot combs to lace fronts, our hair tells stories of identity, innovation, resistance and beauty.

This exhibit will feature:
✨ Expressions of Black hair across decades – showcasing iconic styles that shaped culture and continue to inspire.
✨ Displays of hair tools, products, and memorabilia – from everyday essentials to nostalgic artifacts that shaped generations.
✨ Original artwork – created with or inspired by hair as a material, muse, or metaphor.
✨ Themed workshops – inviting the community to learn, create, and connect through hair-centered art and dialogue.
